Richter Gedeon PLC. Warehouse building Nr. 2 reconstruction

Budapest, District 10, Gyömrői road,
Hungary
2012

Our studio has been appointed to take part in several design projects for the Gedeon Richter pharmaceutical factory’s seat on Gyömrői street. Amongst our works are a high bay warehouse, a research laboratory, a hormone, tablet granulation and injection factory.

In the case of the raw material warehouse’s façade reconstruction we designed a characteristic surface using a simple structure. Our suggestion was an envelope for the building that evokes the sense of motion and dynamics without actually using moving parts.

The metal panel façade cladding gives the impression of flow by organizing vertical joints offset from each other in every row. The glossy steel lamellas recessed in every vertical joint are enhancing this picture. The building has the ability to provide a constantly changing image because of its key visual position reacting on both the dynamic viewpoint of the cars going by and the migration of the clouds and sun with its changing lights and shadow, thus keeping the surface in a continuous delicate motion.
