According to healthcare professionals specializing in diabetes, screening programs often attract children and older adults, while young adults and middle-aged individuals are frequently overlooked. This realization inspired a project to establish a Metabolic and Diabetology Center for Adults and Children, designed to cater to all age groups—from children to seniors—thus addressing the needs of the entire community.

The center is housed on the ground floor of a late eclectic corner building at Móricz Zsigmond Square, constructed around 1910. The former residential spaces and bank branch were transformed through meticulous spatial planning and modern solutions. The goal was to create a harmonious, elegant, and user-friendly environment while preserving the building’s architectural heritage.

The interior design was developed in close collaboration with the medical team of the Szent Kristóf Outpatient Clinic to ensure that all professional requirements were met. The layout is logical and easy to navigate: the waiting area and treatment rooms are located near the entrance, while the back-office functions were placed in the courtyard wing to support efficient operation.

This project not only preserves the building’s urban and historical values but also breathes new life into it by adding a contemporary, community-focused purpose. Thoughtful spatial planning, accessibility solutions, and the careful preservation of architectural details combine to make the building a key participant in urban life once more, while also serving the community’s health needs.
