The New Transylvanian Art Center – 3rd Prize Entry

As a future cultural center for Hungarians in Transylvania, the building complex aims to serve as an exemplary representation of intellectual and artistic value.

Encompassing six institutions (Székelyföld Philharmonic, Tamási Áron Theatre, Cimborák Puppet Theatre, M Studio, EMÜK Art Gallery, and Péter Bod County Library), the complex fuses cultural heritage with the social and technical expectations of the future.

The new art and cultural center integrates seamlessly into the city fabric: built on tradition but with a contemporary appearance, the building reflects the city’s character, taking form and layout cues from the surrounding network of streets and public spaces. The architectural design is enhanced by artisanal and handcrafted details, creating a cohesive whole.

More information on the project can be found on Építészfórum, in Hungarian.
